SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
Plan useful content.
Make room for real conversations.
Social media management is the ongoing work of planning, creating, publishing and reviewing content, with audience responses included where agreed. Its cost depends on the work involved, not just the number of posts. A useful plan gives content a clear purpose and leaves your team enough capacity to respond to enquiries.

This guide helps you compare management proposals, choose content for reach, trust and enquiries, and create a December schedule that your team can maintain.
01
What does social media management cost, and what should it include?
There is no single price that fits every business. Managing one channel with supplied images differs from researching topics, producing original video, adapting assets for several channels and handling audience messages. Compare the scope and responsibilities before comparing fees.
Planning and content production
Confirm whether audience research, topic planning, captions, design, photography or video are included. Specify which channels and deliverables the agreement covers. A post count alone does not describe the production effort.
Publishing and audience responses
Clarify who schedules approved content, answers comments and messages, and handles service complaints or sensitive questions. Define response coverage and an escalation contact rather than assuming continuous availability.
Review and improvement
Agree on what reporting means, which business outcomes matter and how often the plan is reviewed. Confirm whether revisions, meetings and adaptations are included or charged separately.
Ask for a quote you can compare
A useful quotation separates recurring management from setup, extra production and paid advertising. It also explains what your business must supply. If an agency needs original photos, product facts or approvals from you, that time belongs in the plan.
- Channels, content formats and agreed deliverable quantities.
- Strategy, calendar, writing and design included in the scope.
- Photography, video, travel and extra production costs where relevant.
- Approval process, revision allowance and publishing responsibilities.
- Message and comment coverage, including holiday arrangements.
- Reporting, account access, asset ownership and cancellation terms.
KOAT’s package prices and social media management inclusions have not been supplied, so this article does not quote them. For a business operating in Suriname and the Netherlands, confirm language, audience and service coverage before deciding whether one plan can serve both markets.
Two proposals can contain the same post count and very different work
Hypothetical example: one proposal includes eight posts built from images you supply. Another includes eight posts plus an original shoot, video editing and message handling during agreed hours. Comparing only the monthly price overlooks the work your own team still needs to do. This is an illustration, not a description of KOAT packages.
02
Which content helps with reach, trust and enquiries?
Give each piece a main job. Content that introduces your business to new people may differ from content that answers a buyer’s concerns or invites an enquiry. The categories below are planning tools, not guaranteed stages that every follower will pass through.
Reach: make the topic relevant
Explain a recognisable customer problem or offer a useful tip. Start with a clear opening and an understandable visual. Choose examples your intended audience can relate to rather than following every trend.
Trust: make the business easier to assess
Explain your process, answer common questions and show actual work where you have permission. Include the context needed to understand examples. Use genuine evidence and avoid invented testimonials or results.
Enquiries: explain the next step
Describe a real service or approved offer, who it fits and how to ask about it. Make the action specific. Ensure your linked page or message-handling process can deliver what the post promises.
What if Instagram reach is low?
Review several comparable posts rather than diagnosing the account from one quiet update. Check whether the topic matters to your audience, the opening is clear, the image or video is understandable and the publishing plan is realistic. Review any account notices and the data available in your own account before making claims about a platform restriction.
Compare organic and paid activity separately. Use the definitions and reporting periods shown in your current tools; available metrics can change. Reach or views indicate exposure, interactions indicate a response, and qualified enquiries indicate business interest. None should automatically be treated as a sale.
Measure the content’s job
Use a small set of measures that connects the content purpose to an outcome. Include feedback from actual conversations, not just dashboard totals.
- For awareness content: review available exposure data and whether the audience is relevant.
- For explanatory content: review useful responses, questions and interactions.
- For enquiry content: record completed enquiries and whether they fit your service.
- For business value: track how qualified enquiries progress to customers where possible.
- For planning: record production effort so the calendar remains affordable.
Likes and follower growth alone cannot establish return on investment. Attribution may be incomplete, especially when someone sees content and contacts you later through another route.
03
How do you make a realistic December social media plan?
Start with the team’s actual availability, service capacity and confirmed dates. December content should support your business and customers without creating promises you cannot fulfil. You do not need to publish every day to have a useful plan.
Confirm the practical facts
Verify operating hours, closure dates, order or booking deadlines and who can respond. Only publish seasonal offers after their conditions are approved.
Choose a manageable content rhythm
Estimate the time needed to research, create, approve and publish each format. Batch related work and leave space for updates. Reuse a useful idea in an appropriate format rather than repeating the same caption everywhere.
Assign approval and response owners
Name the person who approves facts and the person who monitors replies. Prepare escalation instructions and check scheduled posts if availability or offer conditions change.
An adaptable four-week planning example
Use this as a topic framework, not a fixed posting-frequency recommendation. Move topics to match your confirmed deadlines and local audience needs.
- Week 1: answer a common customer question and explain an appropriate service.
- Week 2: show a genuine process or approved work example with useful context.
- Week 3: share verified availability or deadlines, plus a helpful decision checklist.
- Week 4: publish an accurate availability update and a relevant year-end reflection or next-step invitation.
For audiences in Suriname and the Netherlands, verify relevant dates, language, currency and availability rather than assuming that every seasonal reference or offer applies equally. If a deadline falls earlier, move its communication earlier too.
Keep the calendar simple enough to use
For each item, record the audience question, purpose, channel, format, required assets, owner, approval deadline, publication date and next step. Add a status field and one review note after publication. A calendar is useful when it makes decisions and responsibilities clear, not when it is filled with topics nobody can produce.
Give your content a clear purpose.
