SEO & ORGANIC VISIBILITY
Search visibility.
Measured with context.
Search engine optimisation helps search engines understand your content and helps people find relevant pages. It combines technical accessibility, useful content, and a clear website structure. SEO does not guarantee a ranking, a fixed delivery date for results, or a particular number of enquiries.

If you are considering outsourcing SEO, define the business goal, the work involved, and how progress will be reviewed. This guide covers timing, costs, and the first checks when a website is missing from Google.
01
How long does SEO take?
There is no single timeline. Google explains that the effect of a change can appear within hours or take several months, and generally suggests allowing a few weeks before assessing its impact. That is guidance for evaluating changes, not a promise that a campaign will succeed by a particular date.
The starting condition of the website, the scale of the work, and how quickly changes are implemented all affect planning. Use Google’s SEO Starter Guide as a baseline for realistic expectations.
What progress can you measure along the way?
Separate completed work from search performance and business outcomes. An agency should explain which layer a result belongs to, rather than presenting a task count as proof of growth.
Work completed
Track the agreed actions: issues investigated, fixes implemented, pages improved, and content delivered. Record dates and dependencies. A recommendation waiting for implementation is different from a verified change.
Search visibility
Review impressions, clicks, and query/page patterns in Search Console. Compare relevant periods and segments rather than treating average position as a complete result. Check whether gains relate to the services and audience you actually want.
Business outcomes
Review relevant organic enquiries or purchases where measurement is available. Check lead quality and attribution limitations. Increased traffic is useful only in relation to your goal, not as a guarantee of commercial value.
Google’s Search results Performance report explains the available search metrics. Add your own business measures and record changes so the reporting remains interpretable.
Improvement is not always a straight line.
Compare changes with context: seasonality, audience demand, campaigns, and other site updates can affect the picture. Small samples and short comparisons can be misleading. Agree a review schedule and discuss what the evidence supports rather than celebrating every movement.
02
What does SEO cost?
SEO cost depends on the work and responsibilities in scope. A one-off audit, technical implementation project, and ongoing content-and-optimisation programme are different purchases. The number of pages, markets, languages, and unresolved issues can change the required effort.
No verified KOAT SEO price or package is supplied here. Request a written proposal showing initial work, recurring fees, optional costs, and who is responsible for implementation. Compare the deliverables rather than the monthly figure alone.
What should an agency deliver for the agreed fee?
Define the deliverables before work starts. The following checklist is a basis for comparing proposals, not a statement that every item is included in every KOAT engagement.
- An agreed goal and a baseline showing the starting condition.
- An audit with evidence, priorities, and explanations of business relevance.
- Keyword research connecting search intent to your actual products or services.
- A page and content plan that avoids unnecessary overlap between pages.
- Clear ownership of technical fixes, writing, publishing, and approvals.
- Progress reporting that distinguishes tasks, search performance, and business outcomes.
- Transparent account access, work records, fees, and handover arrangements.
Make keyword research relevant to your business.
Start with the questions customers ask and the services you can deliver. Group topics by intent and map them to appropriate pages. A broad keyword may attract readers who are not looking for your offer; a specific query may reflect a more relevant need.
For audiences in Suriname, the Netherlands, or both, validate languages, search wording, and local context. Do not invent demand figures or assume one country label describes every customer. English copy alone is not a complete strategy for Dutch-language queries.
03
Why does your website not appear in Google?
First distinguish two situations: a page may not be indexed, or it may be indexed but not visible for the query you tried. Inspect the exact URL in Search Console instead of relying only on a manual search.
Google’s URL Inspection documentation explains that an indexed status does not guarantee appearance in search results. Use that distinction to guide the investigation.
A practical visibility checklist
Check the reported status before making changes. Some exclusions are intentional, especially for drafts, private pages, or duplicate URLs.
Publication and access
Confirm that the intended page is public and available without login. Check failures, redirects, and whether Google can access the content. A working browser view does not answer every indexing question.
Indexing instructions
Review noindex directives, robots restrictions, and the reported canonical URL. Do not remove intentional protections from private content. A canonical pointing elsewhere may explain why a different URL appears.
Discovery and content
Check links to the page and whether it appears in the relevant sitemap. Review whether the content is useful, distinct, and aligned with the intended query. A newly published page is not guaranteed immediate discovery or inclusion.
Reported problems
Review Search Console’s indexing information and any manual-action or security notices. Follow the reported issue rather than assuming a penalty simply because you cannot find a result.
See Google’s guide to pages missing from Search for the official investigation process.
An indexing request is not a ranking guarantee.
After resolving a specific problem, use the appropriate Search Console checks and monitor what happens. Repeated requests do not replace fixing the cause. A page can be technically eligible without ranking prominently for a competitive query.
