MARKETING FOR INSTALLATION COMPANIES & PLUMBERS
Get the right request.
Make the next step clear.
An installation company gets more relevant quotation requests by explaining the work it accepts, reaching customers within its real service area and making enquiry and follow-up reliable. More clicks or calls are not automatically useful if they concern work the team cannot take on.

This guide covers service pages, local SEO, campaign relevance and a practical quotation process. Examples are illustrative, not KOAT client cases.
01
Define the jobs you want before buying traffic
List the services, locations and project types the business can actually support. Separate planned project enquiries from urgent repair requests where that distinction matters. Match the website message and contact route to the work you want to assess.
Service fit
Explain which installation, maintenance or plumbing work is offered. Do not imply that every technical service is included.
Area and capacity
State the genuine service area and confirm current capacity before promising availability. A nearby enquiry can still fall outside your scope.
A responsible quotation
Explain whether a conversation, photographs or a site assessment is needed before pricing. Publish fees, guarantees and qualifications only when verified.
Build service pages around customer decisions
A useful page explains the problem addressed, the scope, what happens next and how to request help. Add genuine project imagery and verified credentials where available. Avoid replacing useful information with a broad promise such as “all installation solutions.”
- Describe the actual service and who it fits.
- Clarify service coverage and any confirmed conditions.
- Explain the assessment and quotation process.
- Answer recurring questions about scope and preparation.
- Provide a contact route the team can maintain.
02
Use local SEO to communicate accurate business information
Review the website and eligible Google Business Profile together. Keep services, contact details and confirmed hours accurate. Google explains that local ranking depends mainly on relevance, distance and prominence; it cannot be improved simply by paying for placement. See Google’s local ranking guidance.
Describe the real business
Use correct business information and follow the profile requirements for your business type. Do not invent a branch or customer-facing office.
Research relevant searches
Distinguish a customer looking for a project quotation from someone seeking immediate repair help. Build content around the services and needs you actually support.
Make local pages useful
Create separate place pages only when they add meaningful service information. Changing a town name in otherwise identical copy is not a substitute for local relevance.
A practical relevance problem
Hypothetical example: a company wants planned installation projects but its ads suggest immediate repair availability. It receives urgent calls it cannot fulfil. Clarifying the advertised scope, destination page and contact expectations addresses the mismatch. This does not guarantee a particular lead volume or cost.
Align advertisements with the service page
Choose a defined service and audience for a paid test. Review actual enquiry reasons and available search-term or campaign information before changing targeting. Make the ad promise and landing-page offer consistent.
Do not advertise 24-hour support, same-day visits or fixed pricing unless the business can provide those terms. Separate media spend from campaign management, content and website costs.
03
Make quotation requests easier to assess and follow up
Ask for enough information to begin a useful conversation, without making every visitor complete a technical survey. A service selection, appropriate location detail and short description may be a useful starting point. Decide additional fields from your actual assessment needs.
Receive the request
Test the form, confirmation and delivery on mobile and desktop. Keep an alternative contact route where appropriate.
Assign the next action
Give each enquiry an owner, current status and follow-up date. Confirm fit and request missing information before preparing a quotation.
Record the outcome
Track quotation versions and agreed next steps. Record won, lost and deferred decisions so the team can learn from actual outcomes.
Measure relevant opportunities, not only form counts
Use consistent definitions and periods that reflect the sales cycle. A contact-button click is not a submitted request, and a submitted request is not a qualified opportunity.
- Completed enquiries and the work requested.
- Suitable enquiries based on agreed service and location criteria.
- Requests contacted and the next action recorded.
- Quotations sent and their outcomes.
- Reasons for unsuitable, lost or deferred work.
- Acquisition costs and the capacity to deliver accepted projects.
If enquiries fail to reach the team, fix that before increasing spend. If unsuitable work dominates, review the offer and campaign message. If suitable requests stall, review ownership and quotation follow-up.
Choose a manageable first improvement
Review a small set of recent enquiries, identify the most important gap and assign an owner to fix it. Document the change and check whether it helps customers understand or complete the next step. Do not treat a short-term increase as proof that one change caused it.
